      1st Copa Capablanca in Memoriam, Match Venezuela – Cuba

      The 1st Copa Capablanca in Memoriam 2011, Match Venezuela – Cuba, was hosted by the Organización Ajedrez Vinotinto y Saire Internacional, c.a. on 17th December at the Salón Tabure del Hotel Tiffany, in Barquisimeto, Venezuela.

      The match was played on 10 boards, over 6 rounds and with the time control of 30 minutes per player. Venezuela scored a convincing victory of 42-18, thanks to the crushing score on the lower boards. GM Eduardo Iturrizaga defeated GM Lazaro Bruzon by 4,5-1,5.

      The prize fund amounted to 40,000 bolivars ($ 9,000 approximately).
