      2nd edition International Prize from His Majesty King Mohammed VI to be held in Casablanca

      The 2nd edition International Prize from His Majesty King Mohammed VI is scheduled to take place from 28th January to 4th February, 2015, at the Sacré coeur Room, in the splendid city of Casablanca, situated on the western part of Morocco on the Atlantic Ocean.

      The event is organized under the auspices of the Council of the Greater Casablanca Region, the Council of the City of Casablanca and the potential of Casablanca.

      It will be split into two main tournaments – International Open Tournament, open to international and domestic players with a federal license or ID FIDE, and Open Youth Tournament (U20) with a valid federal license for the 2014 season.

      The tournament format is 9-round Swiss FIDE with tempo of play 90′ + 30″.

      The general rules of FRME and FIDE (2014) will be apply.

      The hefty prize fund in the amount of 177.000 MAD (approximately 16.000 €) will be awarded as follows:
      Main prizes: 60.000 MAD + trophy/ 30.000 MAD/ 20.000 MAD/ 15.000 MAD/ 8.000 MAD/ 5.000 MAD/ 4.000 MAD/ 3.000 MAD/ 2.000 MAD/ 1.000 MAD/ 1.000 MAD/ 1.000 MAD
      Special prizes: U2000: 2.000 MAD/ 1.000 MAD; Best boys U8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18 & 20: 8.500 MAD altogether; Best girls respectively: 8.500 MAD; Best female players: 7.500 MAD altogether

      The Royal Moroccan Federation of Chess organizes under the auspices of the International Chess Federation a parallel seminar for national arbiters for obtaining federal arbiters norms. This seminar will be organized by Professor IA Abderrahim Almahdi and member of the Arbitration Commission of FIDE (UAE), assisted by the IA Abdellah khalid Naimi FROM Libya and the national technical director and IA Akkour Abdelfattah. This workshop is open to all national ARBITERS of all countries. A review of obtaining standard or diploma will be organized at the end of the course. Participants in this seminar will be exempt from participation fees and accommodation and food costs from 1 to 4 February 2015. Travelling costs are the responsibility of the participants.
