      3rd International Tournament Cesme Open 2015

      The 3rd International Chess Festival Cesme Open 2015 will take place from 15-20th June, at the Cesme Aya Haralambos Church, in Cesme, a splendid coastal Turkish city, situated near the largest metropolitan center in Turkey’s Aegean Region, Izmir.

      The event is a 9-round Swiss Open, organized by the Turkish Chess Federation and Cesme Municipality. The tempo of play will be 90′ + 30″.

      The main sponsor of the tournament Cesme Municipality provides the hefty prize fund in total of 33,500 TL (nearly 12,000 €).

      The festival will be split into two categories – Category A (Open to all participants, rated 1700 or more) Category B (Open to all player, rated below 1700).

      The winner of the 2nd Cesme Open 2014 was GM Igor Kovalenko.

      Open A prizes will be divided according to the following criteria:
      General prizes: 5,000 TL/ 3,500 TL/ 2,300 TL/ 1,300 TL/ 1,000 TL/ 900 TL/ 800 TL/ 700 TL/ 600 TL/ 500 TL
      Best Turkish player: 1,000 TL/ 800 TL/ 600 TL/ 500 TL/ 400 TL
      Best senior older than 54 years: 500 TL
      Best local player: 250 TL/ 200 TL/ 150 TL
      Best female player:  400 TL/ 300 TL/ 200 TL/ 150 TL/ 100 TL

      The players in Open B will be awarded as follows:
      General: 2,000 TL/ 1,500 TL/ 1,000 TL/ 700 TL/ 600 TL/ 500 TL/ 400 TL/ 300 TL/ 250 TL/ 200 TL
      Best U16 player: 300 TL/ 250 TL/ 150 TL
      Best U12 player: 250 TL/ 200 TL
      Best local player: 300 TL/ 250 TL/ 200 TL/ 150 TL/ 100 TL
      Best player without rating: 250 TL/ 200 TL/ 150 TL
      Best player older than 50 years: 200 TL
      Best female player: 250 TL/ 200 TL/ 150 TL/ 100 TL/ 100 TL

      – The players who are citizens of İzmir, or whose TSF License Approval City is Izmir, are considered as “Local Player”
      – Such citizenship should be proved by an official document. For the players who do not hand in their certificate of residence to the tournament director before the last tour, their TCF License Approval City shall be in effect
      – Players whose federation is shown as TUR (Turkish Chess Federation) in the FIDE Rating List, are considered as “Turkish Player”.

      The organizers provide different activities on 18th June – a blitz tournament at 15:00 with tempo of play  3′+ 2″ and a Cesme City Tour (FREE), accompanied by a tour guide.
