      4th Amsterdam Science Park Open 2014

      The fourth Amsterdam International Chess tournament will be held from 5th to 13th July 2014.

      The playing conditions will be perfect in a high-tech, sportive and inspiring environment.

      The venue is the new sports centre Universum at the Amsterdam Science Park, where the chess players are surrounded by renowned scientists, researchers, high-tech companies, an impressive beta faculty and ambitious students.

      The event will be played in a 9-round Swiss format with a time control 90 minutes for 40 moves plus 30 minutes for the rest of the game plus 30 seconds per move starting from move 1.

      The 4th edition of the tournament will be split into 6 groups:
      Open A (for players rated more than 2000 FIDE Elo)
      Open B (open to players rated 1750-2050 FIDE Elo)
      Open C (for participants with Elo rating 1500-1800)
      Open D (open to players below 1550 ELO rating)
      Weekday three-round-event
      Weekend three-round-event

      Top seed in Group A is GM Van Den Doel, Erik, who will be vying for the first prize of 1750 €.
