      Inauguration 3rd December 2012 at 2pm at Gorky Sadan Auditorium


      Round 1 : 3rd December 2012 (Monday) 3pm to 7pm
      Round 2 : 4th December 2012 (Tuesday) 2pm to 6pm
      Round 3 : 5th December 2012 (Wednesday) 2pm to 6pm
      Round 4 : 6th December 2012 (Thursday) 2pm to 6pm
      Round 5 : 7th December 2012 (Friday) 2pm to 6pm
      Round 6 : 8th December 2012 (Saturday) 2pm to 6pm
      Round 7 : 9th December 2012 (Sunday) 2pm to 6pm
      Round 8 : 10th December 2012 (Monday) 2pm to 6pm
      Round 9 : 11th December 2012 (Tuesday) 2pm to 6pm
      Round 10 : 12th December 2012 (Wednesday) 2pm to 6pm

      Entry Fees
       

      PLAYERS BELOW 2200 RATING MAY NOT BE ALLOWED TO TAKE PART FREE FOR GMs, IMs (2400+), WGMs (2400+)

      All others having following ELO Ratings need to pay the entry fees as detailed below :

      ELO Rating as on 1st December 2012 will be considered for Entry Fees.

      Last date of Entry : 25th November 2012 and with Late Fee of Rs 1,000/- on 28th November 2012. 

      All players must communicate either using Feedback Form given in our web site at : 

      www.alekhinechessclub.com or by post – Entry fees may be paid by cash or by local cheque or by Bank Draft in favour of “Alekhine Chess Club” payable in Kolkata.

      Prize Money


      Total Prize Fund : 12,00,000/- = $ 21,800/- +
       

      In October 2012, 1 $ = 55 approximate (purchase price)
       

      All foreign players except players from Bangladesh and Nepal, will be paid in US $ PRIZE (Indian Rupee) $ (approximate) > (Oct 2012)

      A tax of 20% (as per Indian Income Tax Regulation – updated) will be deducted from the prizes won by foreign players.

      System of Play:
       

      The tournament will be conducted as per FIDE Laws of Chess and 11 rounds will be played under FIDE Swiss System.

      Important :


      It is compulsory for all players to attend Prize distribution ceremony. Any player wish to attend any other program on chess between 3rd and 13th December 2012, should take necessary consent from organizers.


      Grandmasters may be approached for any other chess activities before or after the meet for the development of students of Alekhine Chess Club.


      HOTEL ACCOMMODATION


      Free Board and Lodging (Personally Invited) : GMs 2700+ will be provided with single rooms in 5/4star hotel, GMs above 2650 will be provided with single rooms in 3 star Hotel, 2600 -2649 IN DOUBLE Room in 3 Star Hotel and 2550 -2599 in double rooms in Hotel/Guest House. Other outstation GMs/ IMs/ WGMs/WIMs in double/triple sharing basis in Hotels/Guest Houses.
       

      Other rated players will also be provided with free lodging at Guest House/ hotels in dormitory, triple/double sharing basis as per rating.
       

      All players including title holders must confirm their entries by Last Date of Entry either by post or by email or through Feed-Back given at www.alekhinechessclub.com
       

      Protest: Protest, if any, against the decision of the Chief Arbiter shall be made in writing with a protest fee of Rs.500/- within 30 minutes of the occurrence of the incident to the Appeals Committee. The protest fee will be refunded depending upon the decision of the Appeals Committee.

      Appeals Committee: Before the commencement of the tournament, a five-member committee of Appeal with two reserves shall be formed from amongst the senior participants and officials present at the Manager’s meeting to be held at the venue on the Inaugural Day. All the members and reserves shall be from different states or countries. No member of the Committee can vote on a dispute that a player from his own State/country is involved and in such case the reserve member(s) shall take his place in the committee.
       

      Interpretation: For interpretation of the rule(s) and deciding any point not covered by the above rules of the tournament, the decision of the Tournament Committee shall be final and binding on all. The Tournament Committee has every right to make any addition or amendment to these rules, without notice. Such changes will, however, be displayed in the tournament hall.
       

      Conditions for foreign GMs : as per contract.

      Time Control : 1Hr 30 Mins. For 40 moves plus 30 mins. (30 sec increase from move 1).
       

      Tie Break:

      Latest FIDE Rules shall come in to effect. The Cash prizes however, will not be shared.
