      8th Wunsiedel Chess Festival 2014

      Bavaria, Chess tournament, Germany


      The 8th Wunsiedel Chess Festival is scheduled to take place from 29th May to 1st June, 2014 in the town of Wunsiedel, situated in the Free State of Bavaria, in Germany.

      The event will be a 7 round Swiss with first prize of 1200 € and will gather 141 players from 14 different federations, including 12 GMs, 1 WGM, 5 IMs, 1 WIM, 9 FMs and 2 WFMs.

      The Fischer time control will be applied (40 moves in 90 min plus 15 minutes for the rest of the game plus 30 seconds increment starting from move 1).

      Top seed is the former European champion for men GM Liviu-Dieter Nisipeanu, who has just changed his federation to represent Germany.
