      Diego Salazar elected President of the French Chess Federation

      In the French Chess Federation elections that were held on 31st March, Diego Salazar was appointed the new FFE President after edging Leo Battesti by a narrow margin of 17 votes or 1 percent.

      836 clubs were eligible to cast 2136 votes. Of this number 591 clubs with 1642 votes took part in the process.

      Diego Salazar won 812 votes (50.5%) and Leo Battesti won 795 votes (49.5%). 35 ballots were blank or not valid.

      The new FFE administration:

      President – Diego Salazar
      Vice-President – Christophe Leroy
      Treasurer – Stéphane Reyreau
      Secretary General – Aurélie Dacalor
      Development Officer – Eric Asked
      Director of Women Chess – Jocelyne Wolfangel
