3rd Science Park Amsterdam Chess Tournament

      Amsterdam, Holland

The 3rd Amsterdam International Summer Chess Tournament will be held from 6 to 14 July 2013 at the Science Park Amsterdam. The playing conditions will be perfect in a high-tech, sportive and inspiring environment.

Science Park Amsterdam offers several cozy bars and restaurants and it has excellent access by bicycle, public transport and car. Amsterdam is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe and two thirds of the hotels are located in the city’s centre.

      There are four different groups:

      Group A – Rated more than 2000
      Group B – 1750 – 2050
      Group C – 1500 – 1800
      Group D – Lower than 1550

      Schedule: 6 – 14 July 2012

      Mode: 9 rounds, Swiss system

Rate of play: 90 minutes for 40 moves + 30 minutes for the rest of the game; with an increment of 30 seconds per move from the start
Start of the games: Rounds 1 – 8 will start at 14.00 hrs. The 9th round will start at 12.00 hrs

When you have both FIDE- as national rating, the highest rating is decisive. So, a player Fide rated 1950 and national rated 2100 is only allowed to play in Group A. However, the organization may decide otherwise in some circumstances.

      Rate of play

The rate of play for each player is 90 minutes for 40 moves, followed by 30 minutes for the rest of the game; with an increment of 30 seconds per move from the start.

NB: The FIDE Laws will apply, except article 6.6a.
