      Magistral Ciutat de Barcelona 2012

      On Tuesday, October 23rd at 16.00 the Chess Tournament Magistral Casino de Barcelona 2012 will take start. This year the Tournament is organized by the Catalonian Chess Federation and sponsored by the Casino of Barcelona (Group Peralada), Barcelona City Hall and and the Autonomous Government of Catalonia.

      The Venue of the Tournament is the Casino of Barcelona (Marina Avenue, 19-21), the dates are from October 23rd to 31st, 2012, and the games will start at 16.30.

      Update: The official website now has Grandmasters Predrag Nikolic (BIH 2638) and Levan Aroshidze (GEO 2560) listed as participants instead of the last year Magistral winner Ivan Salgado Lopez and winner of the 2012 Catalan chess circuit Emilio Cordova.

      6 IM Alonso Rosell Alvar 2540 ESP (2011 Spanish champion)
      7 GM Sjugirov Sanan 2624 RUS
      8 GM Nikolic Predrag BIH 2638
      9 GM Aroshidze Levan GEO 2560
      10 GM Muñoz Pantoja Miguel 2460 ESP (2012 Catalan champion and Spanish vice-champion)

      Each participant will have to annotate one of his/her games played in this tournament, which will be published in the next edition of the FCE magazine “El Butlletí d’Escacs”.

      The tournament hall will be equipped by screens and it will be possible to view the games.

      There will be live broadcasting offered by the Catalonian Chess Federation website where it will be possible to follow the games : http://www.escacs.cat/competicio/ciutat-barcelona/en-directe , also ICC will be offering live coverage for the tournament.

      Anything that is not foreseen and specified in these Regulations, will be covered by FIDE Regulations.
