I have not seen a game so wonderfully anticipated as this one in a very very long time…Hou and Judit. I honestly don’t care who wins..actually I never care about that sort of thing..I just love to see nice ideas. I hope the ladies serve it up.This is historic. Good luck to both.

Sasi ground down Hou Yifan in round five and Short ( so often put down these days ) proved that he can still be a tough customer as he comprehensively ‘out-tacticed’ Humpy in round six. Congrats to both.

Super win by Hou and a humbling experience for the great Judith. With this win Hou has cemented the value of her World Crown. In a couple of years Hou definitely should touch the 2700’s. Of course as far as women’s chess goes, ‘one swallow does not a summer make’. Congrats Hou Yifan.

Yes, but I think if you look at this tournament, you might see that there are quite a number of swallows flying around.

Emphatic statement by Hou Yifan and a wake up call for Judith.

But again, I would want to see them play each other at their primes, when Judith was a violent attacker and much hungrier to win.
Having a baby can do all sorts of things to you.

This is only one game. Let us do not get carried away. It is great to see a number of strong plays by female players. Together it makes an exiting statement. Wow.
