      India and Vietnam shine in round 1 at the World Cup

      Vietnam and India flawless at the World Cup R1

      GM Abhijeet Gupta, GM Penatla Harikrishna, and GM Parimarjan Negi are the three Indian representatives among the 128 participants at the World Cup in Khanty Mansiysk. After round 1, 64 players from the participants have to leave the competition, however, non among them is from India. The three young talents continue successfully their run after GM Gupta defeated GM Mamedov (AZE) 1,5:0,5, GM Harikrishna won against GM Rodshtein (ISR) 1,5:0,5, and GM Negi had a walkover against the injured GM Akopian.

      Vietnam representatives also complete with success round 1. GM Le Quang Liem secured a 1,5:0,5 convincing victory against the solid GM Susanto Megaranto, while GM Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son won against Li Chao with the same score.
