In American football… in Baseball… in Basketball and more, the USA is the best.
        Bat with all respect.
        Uhmmm… The Women’s Soccer is slow. 🙂

Susan, if you love the soccer, you need to know the “Game of the Century”.

        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-BtuVGY4rg

In Italy (unfortunately), the soccer is the national sport and in any case.
        Soccer World Cup.
        Titles by nation:
        Brazil: 5
        Italy: 4
        Germany: 3
        Uruguay: 2
        Argentina: 2
        England: 1
        France: 1
        Spain: 1

        Best regards
        Stef

Stef forgets the 1999 World Cup, which was won by the United States but didn’t make her list.

Besides, the number of titles won by other nations has no effect on this year’s World Cup. The USA overcame awful officiating to beat Brazil, and none of the other teams on Stef’s list made the finals this year either.

If USA women’s soccer is “too slow,” why are they in the final and why are all other teams except for Japan watching it on TV tomorrow instead of playing in it?

The “old Europe” does not consider important women’s Soccer (very demanding palates, and experts).

I’m sorry but I can not improve the quality of women’s Soccer (I do not even follow men’s Soccer even though I played in it).

The list is Soccer World Cup Men. It serves to show that (unfortunately) understand enough about Soccer.

        A question for Anon.
There is a women’s league American football? (not Soccer)
If there is you look at it with interest?

I’m sorry if my comments seem to be “sexist”, considers to be only technical.

        Best regards
        Stef

        Sorry again… 🙂
        One more question for
        Anon 1:24:00 AM:
if not play “USA women’s soccer”: you would have watched the game?

        Best regards
        Stef

It’s VJ Day today. Victory of Japan. (Still a State Holiday in Rhode Island) Japan surrendered to the USA in 1945 ending World War II. We will beat Japan 2-0 today,

I’m the anonymous poster who answered Stef. The USA has a professional soccer league for women, but no professional American football league for women.

In answer to your second question, I didn’t watch the game even though the USA was playing in it. The only time people in this country seem to care about soccer is when one of our teams is in the World Cup (men or women), and even then, win or lose, it’s business as usual the next day.

In America, though, there’s almost as much interest in women’s soccer as in men’s because the women are almost as good at the sport. This is not the case in baseball, football or basketball. The women’s professional basketball league, for instance, uses smaller basketballs and has the net (the basket) lower than in the men’s game.
