      Hotel Pipa Atlântico

      The American Continental Championships 2014 are scheduled to take place from 18-26th October at the Hotel Pipa Atlântico – Convention Center on Praia da Pipa in Brazil.

      The participation is open to all players registered with FIDE federations of the American continent. The system of play in the Classical Championship is 11-round Swiss.

      Top four (4) finishers qualify for the FIDE World Cup 2015 in Baku, Azerbaijan. In case of a tie, additional rapid/blitz games will be played.

      As a stage of the World Championship, the event provides special conditions for FIDE titles: One GM/IM norm is counting as two norms.

      The total prize fund is 20,000 USD. Top prizes are USD 5000 / 3400 / 2400 / 1700 / 1200 / 900 / 800 etc

      Entry fee is equivalent to US$200 in local currency.

      The organizers are providing full board for the last Panamerican Youth Champion, one player appointed by the Continental President, up to three (3) players from Zone 2.1, one (1) player from Zone 2.2, and up to two (2) players from each of the zones: 2.3, 2.4 and 2.5.
