      The kids are making a statement

      Altounian, Daniel Naroditsky, Darwin Yang, Lubbock, SPICE, Spice Spring Invitational, Texas Tech, TTU


      In round 1 of the 2011 SPICE Spring Invitational, the two youngest players, Yang and Naroditsky (mid teens), and the young at heart (mid 30’s), Altounian, scored a full point to get an early jump for their norm chase.

        What score is needed for GM Norm and IM norm?

        GM norm is 6.5/9. For Darwin Yang, IM norm is 5/9. For Faik Aleskerov, IM norm is 4.5/9. You can easily look up the chart on fide site.
