Father Wants to Donate Chess Tables
He offers a gift to the village in memory of his late son, Joshua Levine
      By Dane Lewis
      (March 10, 2011)
      SAG HARBOR

An outpouring of citizenry came to the Tuesday night meeting of the Sag Harbor Village Board to support Myron Levine in his mission to donate two outdoor chess tables in memory of his son, Joshua M. Levine, who died in an accident in November at Quail Hill Farm, Amagansett.

The younger Levine was crushed under one of the rear tires of a tractor; he was 35 years old.

Shortly after moving to North Haven with his wife and toddler daughter two years ago, he had started at Quail Hill, an organic community farm, as a volunteer. In 2010 he became the farm’s marketing manager, and was well known to habitués of the Sag Harbor Farmers Market on Bay Street as an enthusiastic spokesman for organic foods.

Before moving out from New York City, Joshua Levine had started a company with his brother called Concrete Classics, which sells outdoor chess tables and backgammon boards made of concrete to municipalities and parks departments.

His parents have long maintained a second home in Sag Harbor. Myron Levine stated their intention of donating two of these tables, as well as stools, to be installed near the farmers market. The boards are inlaid with green and white terrazzo tiles and outlined with a brass border. They are designed to last indefinitely outdoors.

        Hi,

You can get many old model chess tables in museum, they are very traditional look and comfortable for play with friends. Get a large collection of high quality wooden chess board games, chess sets at reasonable price. Thanks a lot.
