      2011 Laredo Open

      $5600 Guaranteed
      Saturday/Sunday April 16-17, 2011

      Site: Bravo Care 6508 N. Bartlett Ave. Laredo, TX 78041

      Format: 5SS, Rds 1-5 G/120. USCF Rated. Open Section is also FIDE rated but follows USCF rules. Current USCF Membership Required (USCF Membership may be Purchased On Site). April ratings used.

      Divisions: 3 Sections: Open, Reserve (Under 1800), and Novice (Under 1400)

      Entry Fee: $45 (Pre-Registered), $55 (On site Registration)

      Pre-registration: Complete form below and mail to: Dr. Sauceda open, 7917 McPherson Rd., Suite 205-511, Laredo, TX 78045. Please pre-register by April 1, 2011.

      Make checks payable to “Joel Sauceda”

      Onsite Registration: 8:00 – 9:00 a.m. April 16th

      Rounds: Saturday April 16th 1st 9:30 a.m. 2nd 2:00 pm. 3rd 7:00 p.m.
      Sunday April 17th 4th 9:00 a.m. 5th 2:00 p.m. Accelerated pairings may be used at the TD’s discretion.
      Only One ½ point bye is available and must be requested before the end of 2nd round.

      Tie-breakers: SwissSys pairing program will be used. – Modified Median, Solkoff, Cumulative and Cumulative opponent.

      Time Control: Rounds 1-5: G/120
      Prizes: Open: 1st $1,200, 2nd $800, 3rd $600 U2400 1st $500 U2200 1st $500 U2000 $500
      Reserve: U1800 1st $400 2nd $200 3rd $100 U1600 1st $200, 2nd $100, 3rd $50,Unrated Reserve $50.
      Novice: U1400 1st $200, 2nd $100, 3rd $50 Unrated Novice $50.

      An Unrated may win any prize in the open section. However, in the reserve or Novice section the winnings are limited to $50.

      Free Motel Room: 10 Free Room accommodations for the first 2200+ USCF/FIDE Rated Player who Pre-Register for the tournament on a First come first served basis. Organizer reserves the right to put up to two players in a room. Rooms courtesy of Kevin Yang, Gateway Inn. Laredo,TX. Alternately two such players could register and request a single room.

      Free Entry: First 5 GM’s get a Free Entry for the Tournament. Your entry fee will not be deducted from any winnings.
