      16th Bora Kostic Memorial
      GM Aleksandar Kovacevic takes the trophy on better tiebreak

      The 16th Bora Kostic Memorial, honoring the first chess globetrotter, was held from 2nd to 12th November in Vrsac, the city of his birth.

      Six players competed in the double round robin tournament: Vasil Spasov (BUL 2606), Ivan Ivanisevic (SRB 2628), Aleksandar Kovacevic (SRB 2594), Vladislav Nevednichy (ROM 2547), Boban Bogosavljevic (SRB 2569) and Nikola Sedlak (SRB 2546).

      Grandmaster Aleksandar Kovacevic occupied the first place from round four and maintained the position until the end of the tournament. Grandmaster Ivan Ivanisevic managed to catch up in the finish, but Kovacevic claimed the trophy on better tiebreak score.

      Final standings:

      1 GM Kovacevic Aleksandar SRB 2594 – 6.0
      2 GM Ivanisevic Ivan SRB 2628 – 6.0
      3 GM Sedlak Nikola SRB 2546 – 5.5
      4 GM Nevednichy Vladislav ROU 2547 – 4.5
      5 GM Spasov Vasil BUL 2606 – 4.0
      6 GM Bogosavljevic Boban SRB 2569 – 4.0
