      17th International Chess Festival M.Chigorin Memorial (updated)
      St. Petersburg, Russia, October 26 – November 05, 2010

      The festival is held in “Moskva” hotel (2 Al. Nevsky square) and consists of two tournaments. Pre-registered players listed bellow.
      A. Rapid chess tournament, October 26-27, starts at 17:00

      Time control 15 minutes per game + 5 seconds increment for each move, 9 round Swiss. Entry fee: 1000 roubles (for juniors under 16, seniors and women – 800 roubles). Registrations are accepted on October 26, 9:30 – 16:45. The prizes are paid out in Russian roubles (official rate on August 17 is 1 euro = 39.11 roubles).

      Total prize fund (granted by St. Petersburg Chess Federation) – 400 000 roubles:

      Main prizes:
      1st place – 75 000
      2nd place – 60 000
      3rd place – 45 000
      4th place – 35 000
      5th place – 25 000
      6th place – 20 000
      7th place – 16 000
      8th place – 14 000
      9th place – 12 000
      10th place – 10 000
      11th place – 8 000
      12th place – 8 000
      13th place – 6 000
      14th place – 6 000
      15th place – 4 000
      16th place – 4 000
      17th place – 3 000
      18th place – 3 000
      Total: 354.000

      Special prizes:
      Best women, 1st place – 8 000, 2nd place – 6 000, 3rd place – 4 000
      Best St. Petersburg players, 1st place – 8 000, 2nd place – 6 000, 3rd place – 4 000
      Best junior – 5 000
      Best senior – 5 000
      Total: 46 000

      The prizes are not shared, a player can win only one prize.

        this is only the first part (rapid). there will also be the main tournament (G90+TI30) and blitz. I heard the top prize is about 8000 USD.
