        Isn’t the French Defense pretty rare these days? This could be the first time Carlsen has played it as black?

        Funny story about the French:
        I know Georgi Orlov from when I was in Seattle.
        He said he didn’t play the French because he wasn’t strong enough.
        It’s a very subtle open but the latent power of black’s good white squared bishop should not be underestimated!
