Wesley So’s next opponent will either be Eljanov or Malakhov. Both are 2700+ players and in their primes. Things are not getting easier for Wesley, but his confidence must be very high right now.

Wesley is underappreciated. All the talk about Carlsen has obscured his tremendous talent. Him beating Eljanov or Malakhov would not be a surprise to me. Ivanchuk and Kamsky are a lot tougher than these two guys.

Great show by Wesley. He played solid against the stolid Kamsky. I hope he goes all the way.

Is there another player who has reached a similar level without coaching?
Rubinstein comes to mind. In the modern era, anyone?

Great win by Wesley!I hope our govt can extend the necessary financial support and also from private corporations for this young talented chess player to become world champion in the future. He is the modern Bobby Fischer inspite of not having a trainer, working alone with his computer.Go Wesley!
