      Caruana ousted both Cuban stars

      Latin America Out of Chess World Cup

      Moscow, Nov 26 (Prensa Latina) Latin America is out of Chess World Cup Khanty-Mansiysk-2009 in Russia after Cuban Leinier Dominguez and Brazilian Gilberto Milos were defeated in deciding blitzers.

      Dominguez, Latin American chess player with the higher Elo rating (2 719 points) was defeated by Italian Fabiano Caruana after drawing the second blitzer.

      Italian Caruana, 68 in Elo ranking with 2 652 points, tied the four 25 minutes matches and won first blitzer to win the tie-break 3.5 to 2.5.

      Caruana,17, defeated in first round Cuban Lazaro Bruzon.

      On the other hand, Milos was defeated in his eighth match by Russian Nikita Vitiugov.

      The only Ibero- American player remaining in the event is the Russian-Spanish Alexei Sirvo, who defeated Ukranian Serguei Fedorchuk 4-1.

      Tomorrow third round will be plaid by the rest 32 players.
