      The World Youth Chess Championship 2009 (under 8, under 10, under 12, under 14, under 16 and under 18 years old – open and girls) will take place in Kemer Antalya, Turkey, between November the 11th, 2009 and November the 23th, 2009.

      With all the accompanying persons, VIPs, staff of TCF, journalists, coaches etc. more than 2600 people have arrived for this tournament.
      Here are all the participants lists and the development after 2 rounds of the event.

      Participants boys: Boys U8 / Boys U10 / Boys U12 / Boys U14 / Boys U16 / Boys U18

      World youth chess championship U18

      The World youth chess championship started with multiple surprises in the U18 group. The top seede IM Matlakov was held to a draw right from the start, while GM Ter-Sahakyan Samvel was defeated by the Indian Shreyansh Daklia Jain.

      Similar was the fate of IM Abasov and GM Chirila, defeated in round 2 by Viacheslav Kulakov and FM Narmontas, while the strong Spanish IM Recuero was held to a draw by Antonios Pavlidis (GRE)

      With full pints continues the Spanish U18 champion GM Salgado Lopez, his round 2 game can be replayed here.

      World youth chess championship U18 girls

      Anastasia Savina is heading firmly in the U18 girls group with 2,0/2. With her opposition falling appart, her chances for first increase right from the start: WGM Sopiko Guramishvili and WGM Jovana Vojinovic were defeated right from the start, while WGM Olga Girya and WFM Bhakti Pradip Kulkarni lost their round 2 games.

      In other interesting encounters WFM Marina Brunello drew with WIM Keti Tsatsalashvili and Ekaterini Pavlidou defeated WFM Nakhbayeva.
