      Getting your game on

Want to spend quality time with your child playing the Game of Kings? Chess is now available for parents at MOSAIC on Aug 3-7.

Chess improves problem-solving skills and grows dendrites even in adults.

Over 30 countries include chess in their educational curriculum. MOSAIC offers chess instruction to Coppell students. While there is space available, a parent may join in a chess class with the registration of their child.

If you are looking to tap into artistic and creative talent, Calligraphy is now open to third-graders with the registration of a parent. Art crosses all age boundaries and can become a common language or activity between a parent and a child.

MOSAIC courses are provided by the Coppell Gifted Association and are open to any students entering grades 4-8 in the fall, not just gifted students. Classes are offered from 9 a.m. to noon Aug 3-8, at Coppell Middle School North.

One hundred percent of the proceeds from MOSAIC are used to provide training in gifted education for educators in Coppell.

For information go to register@coppellgifted.com or at the Coppell Gifted Association Web site www.coppellgifted.org.
