      Navara vs. Ivanchuk

      From the press release by Pavel Matocha:

      “Grandmasters David Navara and Vassily Ivanchuk will compete against each other on 27th – 31st May 2009 in Prague. The eight-game match is to take place between 27th to 31st May 2009 at Best Western Kampa hotel in Prague.

      The match of grandmasters Navara and Ivanchuk will be the main attraction of the chess festival IEZ CHESS TROPHY 2009, which is held by a civic association Prague Chess Society.

      All games will be commented on for the audience by Czech-American grandmaster, Lubomír Kaválek. All games will be shown online at www.praguechess.cz.

      The match will be complemented by a chess simul of Grandmaster Kaválek playing against 25 opponents as well as by lectures by grandmasters. The chess festival is held in a partnership with the capital city Prague and the general sponsor is “EZ group”.

        Eight games in five days ?? Must be rapid, even though this is not mentioned in the article … .
        And: When does Ivanchuk take some rest? Seems he would need it quite urgently … .
