Children’s Republican Chess Match ‘Maccabi 2009’ started in Azerbaijan

Children’s Republican Chess Tournament “Maccabi 2009” has started in Azerbaijan with the support of Hewlette Packard.
HP reports that the competition isa designed for children aged 12 and is given support of the Republic Chess Federation.
“The match involves 40 children from Baku, Sumgait, Guba, Bilasuvar. The tournament prize-winners will get the right to represent Azerbaijan in the International Children’s Chess Tournament to be held in Lipetsk, Russia, this autumn. And 20 best participants of “Maccabi 2009” will be given the right to take part in 3rd International Children’s Chess Tournament “HP-Maccabi” in autumn of the year,” it was informed.
“Maccabi 2009 is to finish on 24 April.
