      For your information,

      The Hillcrest Church of Christ is located in northeast Abilene near Abilene Christian University. Ambler Avenue is near I-20 and becomes Highway 351 as it intersects with I-20. Coming from the west on I-20, take the Abilene Christian University exit 288 (Albany, Hwy 351). Take Judge Ely (the first right turn) to Ambler and turn right. The church is about three blocks away. Coming from the east on I-20, take exit 288 (Albany, Hwy 351). Turn left on Ambler and go 0.8 mile to the church. North-south streets like Treadaway also intersect Ambler.

      Enter the church on the southwest side and go down the hall to the classroom where the tournament is held.

      A 5-Round Tournament!

      Event Site: Frenship High School, Wolfforth, Texas

      Description: A 5 Round Chess Tournament. Individuals will play all five games. If a player is a USCF member their games will be rated.

      All players must check in and attend orientation/arrival in the Cafeteria to make sure everyone is present. On-site registration will occur at orientation/arrival, starting at 12:00.

      Sections: There will be one scholastic K-12 section and an Adult section. Based on turnout additional sections could be added.

      Entry Fees: $5 per person, with T-Shirts being available for purchase at additional cost.

      Tournament Schedule:

      12:00 – 12:30: Arrival/Orientation/Registration

      12:30 – 1:10: Round 1

      1:30 – 2:10: Round 2

      2:30 – 3:10: Round 3

      3:30 – 4:10: Round 4

      4:30 – 5:10: Round 5

      5:10 – 5:30: Award Ceremony

      Please send all fees to Frenship High School by March 30th

      Or pay on site with a late fee of $2

        Question about the Photo:

        The depicted Chess Pieces look like the usual ‘Ultimate Triple Weight’ Plastic Pieces, but there are little differences:
        the Queen has less sharp edges and the Knight seems to be a little taller.
        Is this a new set and if yes, where is it available?
