They forgot a special award in Dresden:
The very top representative for chess and its fascination…
        The winner is…
        Susan Polgar!

It was a real dream to see you working there.

        Susan Polgar!

I could not agree more. It is a joy seeing Susan is getting, at the international level, the respect and recognition she truly deserves for her good work and brilliant contributions to the game of chess.

I want to express my gratitude to Susan for her coverage of he Olympics. It is really a joy to come to her blog every day and catch up with the news.

I though her coverage of the World Chess Championship was also brilliant, and I wish for her continued success. I only wish the leaders of chess in the US would realize how good she is for the game, and ally forces with her.

But maybe their self-interests are in the way; they do not allow them to see her in the proper light.

In the meantime, you can see how well respected and appreciated she is in the international stage. Ex-World Champions come to her press conferences, and it is great for the game.

I enjoyed very much the press conference with Boris Spassky. Thanks!

Paradoxically, Topalov had a 2840 perfomance against his stronger 7 opponents, whi9ch was the tioop for board 1- but he dropped to 2821 and third due to a win ! against a 2289.

This shows the problem of using performance rating- a win actually did cost Topalov gold and silver medals which is ridiculous. Your position should not get worse from a win.
