      GM Aleksa Strikovic claims VI International Chess Open Carlos I

      The sixth edition of Abierto International Chess Tournament Carlos I took part from 21st to 29th June 2014 at Hotel Carlos I in Sanxenso, a municipality in Galicia, Spain.

      The event was a 9 round Swiss with a time control 90′ + 30″.

      Serbian Grandmaster Aleksa Strikovic emerged clear winner with 7,5/9 points. Strikovic grabbed the first prize of 1.000 € and left the nearest followers half a point behind.

      Spaniards IM Pablo Garcia Castro, FM Julio Suarez Gomez, FM Fernando Sanchez Aller and Julio Torrado Quintela shared second place on 7 points each.
