        I guess he can be forgiven for that short draw since it does clinch him the title and the money. Congratulations!

        Apparently this draw also allows Friedel to clinch his final GM norm.

        There was no doubt then that this game was not going to last too long! I am surprised they played as long as they did!:)

        I don’t believe that the ends justify the means

        but congrats anyway since I certainly expect that in a real game he could easily draw Friedal

        I tought there needs to be a percentage of foreign players in a tournament for norm opportunities to prevent this type of shenanigan.

        National championships are exempt from the foreign federation requirement.
