CT exclusive interview with Kamsky’s manager

      Chernenko, Gata Kamsky, Topalov

Exclusive interview with Kamsky’s manager by Chess Today:

Chernenko stated that it was not technically easy to transfer such a large amount of money (USD $935,000) to the FIDE account without a signed contract. He explained some specifics of these problems. Also, the nearly permanent holidays in Ukraine during the period between 25 April and 12 May were an obstacle. Chernenko is happy that FIDE understands the situation. He hopes that in the very near future money will be at the FIDE account.

A 17 minute long audio interview in Russian with Gata Kamsky’s Ukrainian manager, Oleksandr Chernenko was conducted by Eurochicago.com journalist Peter Stomatov. The interview can be found at http://rvpconsult.com/rvp_chess2.html (and there is a download link on the bottom of the page).

Why $935,000 when the highest bid so far is $150,000? I don’t get it.
