      HSG wins Dutch Club Championship

      Chess Vista, Dutch Club Team Championship, Frits Agterdenbos, Holland


      Dutch Club Team Championship 2007-08, R8

      31.03.2008 HSG (Hilversum) is the 2007-2008 champion. The Dutch Club Competition Premier League Round 8 took place on Saturday 29 March 2008. HSG (captain: Jan Stomphorst, players: Van Wely, Smeets, Nijboer, Stellwagen, L’Ami, Delemarre, De Vreugt, Vedder, Spoelman and Janssen) secured the title with one round to go by crushing Homburg Apeldoorn (8.5-1.5). The 2006-2007 champion Hotels.nl (Groningen) drew 5.0-5.0 against LSG 1. HSG leads with 16 match points, followed by Schrijvers Rotterdam and Hotels.nl, both with 12 match points. HMC Calder is fourth with 10 match points. ESGOO is fifth with 9 match points. LSG 2 and HWP Sas van Gent have been relegated. The final round (R9), a combined round with all 100 players together, will take place on 17 May in the Town Hall of Hilversum.
