      The Bronx Bombers strike again!

Bronx Bombers, Knights of the South Bronx, Scholastic chess

Back in December, I posted about the Bronx Bombers Scholastic Chess Team and their fight to go to the National K-12 with their coach. Here are some updates by the team:

On January 27th, the Bronx Bombers participated in the 42nd Annual Greater New York Schlastic Chess Championships. It is America’s Longest Running USCF Rated Scholastic Chess Tournament. Our students entered three sections and they included the K to 6 Novice, K to 6 Junior Varsity and K to 6 Varsity Sections.

The students played five rounds of chess for thirty minutes each. In the K to 6 Novice Section, our students came in first place with 17 points in N.Y. City. Individually, Emely Herasme came in first place with a perfect score of five points and Wesley Sanchez came in second place with a perfect score of five points. Nailah Airall came in fifth place with four wins.

In the competitive Junior-Varsity Section, our players came in second place in N.Y. City. Eight of our students won free membership to the exclusive Marshall Chess Club until the end of April.

This was the first major Chess Tournament for the Bronx Bombers since they were denied the right to attend the Grade Nationals in Texas last December without their coach.

We are getting very focus for the nationals in May in Penn. United we stand and divide we fall.

Thanks guys for the update! Congratulations on your success! Know what you want, focus on what you do, practice hard, and your goals will be within reach! Let us know your progress and good luck to the entire team!

I suggested that your advice [in italics and bold at the foot of the item] was not good.
So you deleted my contribution. Do you delete any contribution that disagrees with you?!

I think their moderators delete stupid posts from anonymouse.

I don’t mind the moderators [and who are they?] deleting stupid posts, but mine was not … and you can’t know whether it was or not as you didn’t read it – did you?

I don’t know. But if they delete it, it must be a stupid or obnoxious post.

… or just a non-stupid, non-obnoxious, non-disrespectful … post they want to delete because ‘they’ disagree.
There have been plenty of those.

I doubt it. If you don’t like their policy, leave. Does that make sense?

I saw the deleted post and I thought it’s condescending. She’s supporting these kids and you sounded like an idiot.

How come a comment has a timestamp of 3.20 PM CST?

Is it a forgery, or has the server clock just flipped?

Obviously not, yours is 3.32 PM … and that’s right. It was wrong before.

I wanted to work with the USCF Executive Board, I focused on doing so … and then I forgot to practise doing it … ‘nuf said.
