Personally, I think GM Kaidanov is better than every player on the list with the exceptions of Kamsky and Onischuk.

He’s a wonderful teacher and has trained many masters and we need more like him to teach and coach.

But, at the tournament level…if he played more, he’d easily beat everyone but Kamsky and Onischuk.

I just want to thank GM Kaidanov for his love of the game and his proven ability to train (and spot) great chess players.

And…I’m glad he doesn’t have a blog. Blogs tend to diminish the reputation of the their creator. With GM Kaidanov….he’s just the eternal “sage” and he seeks no one out…they come to him for guidance.

Thanks, GM Kaidanov, for your contributions to the world of chess.

And your rates are far better than other, lower rated, and inferior “GM’s”.

And the instruction is far superior!

Keep up the good work, GM Kaidanov!

Why is GM Seriwan on the list? He has not played in active tournaments in over 2 years. I do respect him though, but if you have not played currently is your score still valid for nexts yr’s list

How many of this “US” players are really born in the US? (chuckle) As i see the names, 90% of them are from Russia and former Soviet republics

I think two are born in US, although Seirawan and Nakamura are real ‘American’ players.

They are getting old though, time to import a new generation of great Americans players.

Benjamin and Christiansen would be the top two native Americans on the list.

It would be great to see Kamsky
make a strong run at the world
        championships and even win it.

Perhaps someone such as Robson or
        some other great young American
could do likewise in the next
        decade.

        American chess, regardless of
where its players are born, takes
a back seat to very few countries.
Perhaps someday soon, we’ll be the
#1 chess country, not just have a
        #1 player.

$500 says Irina loses to a 13 year old in less than 3 months. No, seriously, Irina is strong but Yifan is out of this world for her age.
