Additional sponsorships for the 2007 SP Invitational

ICC, Jeff Smith, SP National Invitational for Girls, SPF, Texas Tech

Thanks to the additional generous sponsorships from Mr. Jeff Smith, House of Staunton, ICC, ICM, SPF and Texas Tech University, the Susan Polgar Foundation will award additional chess prizes (over 100 chess prizes) and scholarships at the 2007 SP National Invitational for Girls in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. The additional chess prizes and scholarships are valued at a little more than $80,000.

The Susan Polgar Foundation would like to thank all of our sponsors for their generosity!

The SPF offered to help find sponsorships for the Denker event as well. Unfortunately, some of the current USCF board members declined this offer.

The board members who played political games and screwed the Denker kids should resign. Shame on them! This is ridiculous!

Yes, thank you Bill Goichberg. Thank you Sam Sloan. Thank you Don Schultz. Thank you Brian Lafferty. Thank you Brian Mottorshead. The USCF doesn’t need any stinking sponsorship. Real men play chess for fun.

i’m sad for the denker players. it’s always the kids who get hurt when chess politicians play games. instead of working with the spf, goichberg compared susan with the convicted felon sam sloan. is this what the uscf president supposed to do? the uscf won’t get any better as long as goichberg still sticks his nose into everything. but all the morons who spend hours everyday on the uscf forums see nothing wrong with the major conflict of interest between running the cca and the uscf. god helps the uscf.

Yes, Goichberg also turned down full scholarships, free room and board from Texas Tech for the Denker tournament as well. He made his politics very clear by sending out his deplorable post cards, emails and posts on his website to attack Susan and Paul. He wants his minions on the Executive Board. He doesn’t want professional people helping the USCF. It’s not in his best interest.

The only good guy on the board is Joel Channing. I hope he won’t become like the rest of them.

When Susan get sponsorship the money goes to the members, the chess players, the little guys.

How come the big guys do not want the little guys to get some reward for working so hard on learning to play chess well?

It seems to me that when members vote for Susan they are voting for themselves. Only Susan and her team seem to be interested in seeing to it that the little guy gets some reward for a job well done.

Goichberg is up for election in 2 years. Guess who I will not vote for. LOL. Yep the same guy who runs big tournaments and I pledge to never enter any of his tournaments ever again. $400 for one tournament when he begrudges $40 for membership dues.

Sayanara Bill, I will remember this election.

It would be interesting to hear the USCF’s side of this discussion.
