An interesting couple of educational videos about the Hungarian Revolution(1956)which have various angles of this building in the background are at:

        and

Note: The russians later apologized about this massive invasion, and the USA did not intervene despite an appeal for help from the Hungarian leadership.

I was in 7th grade at the time of the Hungarian Revolution and I so much wanted them to get their freedom. That was an important event in my young life even though I lived in America and am not related to anyone Hungarian. But I just knew all the Hungarians fighting for freedom were such great people. I saw it as similar to Americans getting their freedom from England at the founding of our country.

Today the word Freedom is a central word to all my life. I see freedom as so much more important than most people can imagine. It is not always so easy for me to give other people the freedom to do as they choose. But I always know it is the correct choice if I can make it.

Hi Susan, i loved your blog very much. I’ve noticed the photo building you take from your house is quite similiar with one of the building in Malaysia. You can see it a my blog http://hairulovchessmaniacs.blogspot.com/2007/06/similiar-building.html
