      The talented young GM Evgeny Alekseev won clear first at the Aeroflot Open with the score of 7 out 9 by beating GM Sargissian in the final round while Tomashevsky and Jakovenko drew.

        1st Prize = 30000 USD
        2nd Prize = 17000 USD
        3rd Prize = 10000 USD
        4th Prize = 6000 USD
        5th Prize = 4000 USD
        6th – 10th Prize = each 2500 USD
        11th – 15th Prize = each 1700 USD
        16th -20th Prize = each 1000 USD
        21st – 30th Prize = each 700 USD

        ** The prizes in cases of a tie of two or more participants will be divided according to the Hort system.

        Dear anonymous, even if Tomashevsky or Jakovenko had won, Alekseev would have finished first on tie break… Then you’re just telling nonsense.

        ¿Qué pasó con Novikov? I don’t understand that final 1-0 against Wang. Did he retire? Susan, you should write a final comment on this exciting chess event.
