This reminds me of Shirov’s incredible bomb at the Keres Memorial rapid. Nine games, all losses save for a single draw!! It seems like when he is in bad form, it isn’t just bad…it is disastrous.

I wonder if Shirov is undergoing some kind of depression. I say that not to slander, but in hopes that he will seek out help if that is the case.

        That’s not Shirov we know.
Something seriously is going on with this guy…

Shirov is pathetic. This guy is a shadow of his former self.

He has lost the will to play and only wants his nice plush conditions.

He should not be allowed to play – get Onischuk or Shulman or Nakamura into GM A instead.

        Why no Americans?

Shirov’s play is an insult to Kaissa. He should be ban from playing for a year.

Bullshit. Shirov is a truly great chess player who has lots of fantastic games to his credit. True, this tournament is not going well for him, but such things happen. His sharp style backfires sometimes. But he really tries to win instead of making lame draws. This should be appreciated.
