        Susan,

Your comments are kind of shallow. You don’t give any alternative lines and analyze them. Just some one line comments, that is difficult to justify for the chess mortals.

A double exclamation mark for Topalov playing e4 ? What makes e4 so strong ? e4 does not deserve !! just because Topalov can’t play d4 with good results lately.

Other anonymous, Susan did not post full game analysis, she just gave her comments live while a game was in progress. That way, we could understand the main ideas behind the moves.

Regarding the Topalov e4!!, remember that this is an informal discussion on a blog. If Susan were in a chess club, it would be easy for her to express her relief (or whatever) at seeing e4 using body language and voice tone to the others. On a blog, she can only express herself with symbols such as !!, which she did.

she gave e4 a !! due to topalov resently always playing d4-which hasnt worked out for him, so trying something different would be a good idea, which is why she gave !! e4.

Is this the Bulgarian version of the published letter in veselintopalov.net?

Carlsen got blown off the board. Killed. It was terrible. I am still in a state of shock. Maybe Carlsen should take some lessons from Garry. I am getting this feeling that play at the very top is a little different.

        I agree about Carlsen.

When he started being noticed and the hype rised I wondered.. Surely he is a *big* talent and very strong. But comparing to Radjabov and Karjakin he is behind.

It makes so much sense to me it might as well be in Bulgarian!

According to this criteria d4 also deserves a double exclamation mark. Then, almost all of the games start with a double exclamation mark, which makes !! quite useless for the first move. Which makes Susan’s comment absurd.

        This is really ironic.

Susans comment “!!” on 1.e4 was probably unnecessary….

but then, so are your comments on her comment on 1.e4!!

which brings us to *my* totally unnecessary comment on your comment on Susans comment!!
