      Her name is Eva Baekelant and her FIDE rating is around 2000. She is 11 and she captured the European Union Youth Championship U12 Title (boy’s section) by the score of 7.5 / 9, a full point ahead of the field! She scored 7 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss. Congratulations Eva!

        Yes, she’s amazing!! I have seen her wipe 2200s off the board like it’s a breeze! I’ve seen this with my own eyes.
        She is the future of Belgian (European!? / World?!) chess!!!

        Hopefully she will be the ‘next Judit Polgar’ !?

        yes, I remember she got a big applause for her performance in ROC Nova Tournament 2006, with here rating 1735 then .. so impressive growth

        Many thanks to Susan for the posting. Eva is certainly not the next Judit nor Susan. Judit played at a strength of 2378 Elo at the age of eleven. This is a huge difference! Chess however changed Eva in a positive way. She is no longer shy and the results at school improved considerably not only in mathematics but also in languages. For us chess is an hobby and a game! Eva plays good games but also bad ones. About 100 games can be found in Megabase 2007 from Chessbase. Thanks to all.
