There are many good chess blogs out there, one of the most popular is the Boylston Chess Club Weblog which also has an extensive and up-to-date list of chess blogs.

Personally, I really enjoy the blogs of the “normal” chess players who struggle to improve their play because I can identify with them (I am running one myself). I follow about 40 of them thanks to the widespread availability of RSS feeds.

I know that picture. It is “The Chess player of Maelzel”, an interesting Edgar allan Poe “story”, isnt it?
An interesting Poe story. Actualy, a true story : the chess machine (or the man inside the device )existed in fact in the real life, at the nineteenth century.

        I know what you mean.

You want us to google to see that you are on top of the list when “chess blogs” are searched.

        Enough.

Don’t confuse the number of Google hits with the number of chess blogs. Many of the pages Google is listing probably don’t even have the two words next to each other.

I would estimate that there are about 250-350 active chess blogs (where active = at least one post in the last 30 days).

“Don’t confuse the number of Google hits with the number of chess blogs.”

I believe Susan more than you.

“I believe Susan more than you.”

Then I’m sorry to say that you would be wrong. As a test, go to say page 30 of the Google results for chess blogs and randomly click on one of the listings. Odds are it will not be a chess blog.

Why so many hits? That is because when you search for “chess blog” or “chess blogs” you get responses for “chess”, “blog”, “chess blog”, and “chess”, “blogs”, and “chess blogs”, respectively.

The number of hits on the generic words “blog” or “blogs” are the vast majority of hits.
