It’s amazing that you get more news out there than chessbase and fide websites together.

        Thank you!

The same president – the same faces.
It seems that some things will never change…
        People, get used to that!

        Hypothetical question:

Why every important chess event lately takes place in Elista?

        This is a nonsence:

        – In Elista, ley say, there were “some problems”, so (1) None among the people involved in the problems should be among the “officials”.

        (2) This is concerning the Word championship. Among the “experts”, is there even one top chess player? (Every GM or IM knows the answer is “no”).

        – Danailov made chess ridiculous to the eyes of a lot – he is going on – nobody says something (including Topalov).

All this is a knew step to the death of professionnal chess.

Please Susan, react! Neutrality is perfect… up to a certain point. Thanks, really!

        MAKROPOULOS??

Why has this controversial figure been selected?

Makropoulos is the only IM among all these officials…

Dr. Filipowicz is an IM. He has great experience as an arbiter, including Kasparov-Kramnik Wch 2000. His FIDE rating in 1975 (when he was 38 years old) was 2405.

The lineup looks like an attempt to keep travel expenses low. There are 16 players, of whom 11 are from former USSR countries and thus presumably speak Russian. The others are Leko, J. Polgar (Hungarian), Carlsen (Norwegian), Bacrot (French) and Adams (English). Nobody in the group is a native speaker of these languages, the most important being English, the “other” international chess language.

And then there is Makropoulos, dismissed head of the Kramnik-Topalov appeals committee, back for more.

Events take place in Elista because nobody bids for them, and then FIDE President Ilyumzhinov takes their organization upon himself. It is interesting to contrast that FIDE has plenty of bids for junior events and the Chess Olympics.

To clarify: (Nobody in the group) of arbiters and appeals committee members as announced (speaks English as a native language). Of course Adams speaks English as his native language!
