The Uruguayan Chess Championship 2014 started on April 2 in Montevideo Uruguay and will run until April 11.
The tournament pays tribute to IA Mr. Horacio Arevalo who physically left us a few days ago. The Ing Arévalo was an enthusiastic promoter of our sport, from different areas such as political (he was President of the Uruguayan Chess Federation), international arbiter and teacher.
The event is held in the House of Sports Artigas, where most of the National Sports Federations of Uruguay are based and will have coverage on line, through www.fuajedrez.org
