      Tournaments in Vladivostok

      The student campus of DVFU in Vladivostok will host three chess tournaments from 18th to 30th July.

      The “Pacific Meridian” (Tikhookeanskiy Meridian) will be played as 11-round swiss with the time control 15′+10” on 18-21st July. The event is a stage of the Rapid Grand Prix Cup of Russia.

      The total prize fund is 10,600 EUR, with 2400 EUR reserved for the winner.

      Confirmed participants include Grandmasters Alexey Dreev, Dmitry Bocharov, Denis Khismatullin, Yuri Yakovich, Vasily Papin, Artyom Timofeev, Evgeny Romanov and Pavel Smirnov.

      The “Seaside Opening” (Primorskiy Debyut) will take place on 21-29th July as a 9-round swiss open. The tournament is a stage of the Cup of Russia in classical chess.

      The prize fund of 14,100 EUR will be divided into 21 regular and several special prizes. First place is 3500 EUR worth.

      The “Russkiy Island” (Ostrov Russkiy), the stage of the Cup of Russia among boys and girls, is set for 21-30th July.
