      convention, International, scholastic

      International Scholastic Chess Convention

      January 6 – 15, 2008 – Chicago

The vision of the initiative is to establish long-term relationships between the young people around the globe by using chess as the vehicle by which to promote mutual understanding of shared problems. In addition, we expect these relationships to add to the students’ general educational knowledge as well as helping the participants to foster a better understanding of their world.

The International Scholastic Chess Convention discussion will be during the following sections:

      1. Chess at Schools
      2. Chess in Education
      3. Chess and Technology
      4. Chess for Peace

The Convention’s special guests are invited to be:

      · World Chess Champion GM Anatoly Karpov
      · World Chess Champion GM Susan Polgar

Each participated chess club will be given an opportunity to present at any one of the Forum’s sessions for 15 minutes. In addition, the Forum will build a special web site to link all the participants around the World for future communications and chess activities.

This is precisely the reason why Dr. Korenman needs to be elected to the USCF Executive Board. He has organized some of the highest profile events which brought in an incredible amount of publicity and recognition for US Chess and the USCF! None of the 10 candidates can match Dr. Korenman’s expertise and record of success in this area.

Dr. Korenman, you have my vote. Scholastic, college, adult and professional players need your expertise. Thank you for helping chess so much.

Susan, Dr. Korenman and your entire team have my vote. We need a fresh direction and your team is the shinning light.

It’s discouraging to see the USCF President Bill Goichberg publicly insulting you. We don’t need classless people running the show.

        Thank you!

This sounds like it will be a great event. Please keep us posted with details as they become available. It really annoys me when people on the USCF forum say that they are not voting for Dr. Korenman because he “hasn’t really campaigned.” Meanwhile he is busy organizing such an exciting, groundbreaking event. He definitely has my vote.

Isn’t this the event where democratic presidential wannabe, Barack Obama, is supposed to visit?

Mikail Korenman definitely has my vote along with you paul and randy.

I had decided to vote for his strong scholastic presence a while back. He has a super reputation.

Goichberg fell out of bed in my estimation. I thought he was an OK guy but not any more. He has joined the corrupt list.

I am totally disgusted with the USCF Forums. I have watched it closely for a few months and as I learn the people and what is going on, I began to have my eyes open to the total corruption of the USCF. I am a uscf life member for over 30 years and I am ready to throw it in the trash can and tell them I am dead. LOL. Only Susan winning this election will keep me as a member.

Goichberg is said to have sent out 3000 postcards to those he thinks might vote. My guess is they are active participants at his tournaments.

He goes out of his way to attack Susan and Paul together with Sam Sloan. Actually he attacks Susan and Paul more than Sam.

I notice how these guy pretend to be neutral and then later when the chips are down they always attack Susan and Paul. Every single one of them. Disgusting. Susan and Paul and have done so much for USCF and Chess in America.

They all attack Susan and Paul because Susan and Paul tell the truth and they can not hide their lies when the truth comes out.

Dr Korenman is a wonderful man who works quietly and creatively. His successes are outstanding. He will make a great member of USCF Executive Board. I will be voting for him with pride.

He may not give us a lot of talk, but he gives us incredible actions. The legacy of his work for chess will live on for a long time. I hope to see him elected to the Chess Hall of Fame some day. Of course the present EB will not vote for him before the election. Right now the USCF is busy trying to destroy Susan and Paul so they can maintain control.

        GO Susan
        GO Paul
        GO Mikhail
        GO Randy

Why there are so many unregistered users, especially anonymous? It will hurt the credibility of the comments. You should ask people to register before commenting.
