      Ahmed Adly is Mediterranean Chess Champion

      Egyptian Grandmaster Ahmed Adly won the 10th Mediterranean Individual Championships 2015 that was held from 16-25th October at Riviera Grand Hotel in Beirut, Lebanon.

      Adly collected 7,5/9 points, leaving the silver medalist GM Mohamed Haddouche (Algeria) and bronze medalist FM Anastasios Pavlidis (Greece) half a point behind.

      The Championship was played over nine rounds of Swiss system, with each FIDE Federation member of the Mediterranean Chess Association statute being entitled to enter one official player.

      The Championship was held under the patronage of FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov and the total prize fund was 7,500 US$.
