Alternate move tandem blitz in NY City

Jon Crumiller, Lev Alburt, SPF, Susan Polgar, Susan Polgar Foundation

5 minute blitz game, alternate move, but no consultation is allowed during the game. This took place during the Susan Polgar Foundation fundraising dinner at the Hungarian Consulate in NY City on October 12. The video was captured by my friend Amy Bowllan.

White: Susan Polgar – Dr. Richard Mautner (UNR)
Black: NM Jon Crumiller (2205) – GM Lev Alburt (2636)

The game ended in a hard fought draw.

Very cool. A draw is an upset since team Alburt is obviously stronger.

Susan’s partner played well also, but Susan was really the star of the game. She played extremely well and held the balance under difficult circumstances. I know because I was Lev’s partner!

Looks like a cool event. There should be more events like this one in the future to help kids. Kudos to everyone.
