      World Stars Chess Tournament
Anand, Carlsen, Polgar and Hammer – 28th to 30th of August in Kristiansund, Norway

A huge event for us in Kristiansund and Norway! In this rapid chess tournament the World Champion Vishy Anand will play against the world’s top rated player, Magnus Carlsen. Judit Polgar and Jon Ludvig Hammer will participate in the same tournament. The first round is played on Saturday 28th and the second on Sunday the 29th. Each player will meet the others twice. The finals will be played on Monday 30th of August.

It is the first time World Champion Anand visits the country since he played in the 1980’s World Youth Championship.

This is the first time Judit Polgar visits Norway. This will also be a big challenge for Norway’s no 2, Jon Ludvig Hammer. They are both looking forward to play against Carlsen and Anand.

Parallel to this amazing rapid chess tournament we arrange a strong 6 rounds open tournament, from Thursday the 26th to Sunday the 29th of August. We are expecting about 100 participants, hopefully more.

Huge media turnout from both international and national press is expected. All are welcome. For further information (soon also in English), see our website – www.ksk.no.

We will come back with more information. Please do not hesitate to contact us.
