      Barbosa wins Hong Kong Open

      The Hong Kong International Open Chess Championship 2015 was organized by the Hong Kong Chess Federation and City University of Hong Kong from September 30th to October 6th.

      The event was a 9-round Swiss open with time control 90’ + 30”.

      Filipino GM Oliver Barbosa and Chinese GM Chongsheng Zeng tied for the first place at 7.5/9 points each but Barbosa took the trophy on a superior tie-break score.

      GM Rui Gao finished solely third with 7 points, while IM Subbaraman Vijayalakshmi emerged the best female player with 6 points and 9th position in the final ranking.
