      Blog Comparison

      Chess Blogs

I was asked by some bloggers to compare my blog with some other more popular chess blogs.

As a policy of my blog from day 1, I will NOT pay to advertise my blog and I will NOT take money to promote other events, organizers, or chess related information like some other sites. If you want to contribute, you can donate to the Susan Polgar Foundation to help promote chess and all its benefits to young people everywhere.

I understand that it is a big financial sacrifice for me not to commercialize my own blog but this is my decision from the start and it will remain that way.

Thank you everyone for supporting and contributing to this blog.

At the times when some other websites ( which used to be excellent in the past) are filled with tabloid type information, your blog and chessdom give usefull information to the people that love chess. Keep like that and best regards from Cyprus Susan!!!!!:)

        Hi Susan,

Some months ago I received an anonymous email telling me that the Goddesschess blog was in the top 100 of all chess blogs. As a mom/pop operation that does not focus only on chess and does not aspire to be the most read, I found that rather difficult to believe.

I subsequently learned through entirely unrelated channels that alexa.com was reported to be capturing only a small fraction of all internet traffic to a particular website, for technical reasons that are far beyond my comprehension. Therefore, it is perhaps prudent to take the stats reported at such site with a grain of salt.

Personally, I have no doubt that your blog is one of the most popular and one that is visited several times a day per visitor (like me) to check on the most current chess-related news and events, as well as other interesting news and events.

Your blog is great! I love the mix of news, events and features. Keep doing what you are doing. Chess blogs come and chess blogs go, as do chess news websites. Yours is here to stay. Take it from a veteran 🙂

31 July 2000 you started up. Incredible. I have followed you since the beginning. I remember you starting up. Hard to believe it is over 9 years. It feels like yesterday.

I used to read both Mig and You every day but I gave up on Mig a long time ago. I checked him once this past year and I have decided to not bother.

I liked Mig when he first started writing humor articles. But he lost it when he began to host ICC tournaments. I had to shut him off.

This is by far the best Chess web site in the world. You are much better than all the others and I have read them all at one time or another.

Keep up the good work. I will always support your work for chess and the kids.

Actually this blog started out in May 2005. Mig is a fantastic writer. I only hope to contribute positively to the chess world.

        Best wishes,
        Susan

Susan has made a great contribution to chess not only in organizing events, but in posting current events and news items. There is a lack of diversity in the news coverage and most sites focus primarily on Europe and a handful of top players. This is not what the globalization of chess is about.

There are a lot of stories missed, but once we learn that nations around the world are producing strong players, then chess will be able to attract strong support from sponsors.

I’m not sure how Susan posts 10-15 stories a day. I run a site, but it also has a blog. However, it’s still very time-consuming. Susan is to be applauded for her services.
