It’s a bit of last-minute notice, but there will be a chess tournament tonight at Hoboken Golf.

Organized by Peter Croce of the Hudson County Chess Association, tonight’s tournament is open to both students and adults. There will be a pizza party at 6:00 p.m. ($10 to attend) followed by the tournament, which begins at 7:30. Game/15 swiss. Four rounds. It’s $10 for students to enter; $15 for adults. All levels of play are welcome and cash prizes will be awarded at the end.

In terms of space, the event is limited to about 40 people, but you can show up at Hoboken Golf if you want to participate. Hoboken Golf Center is located at 2nd and Grand streets.

Croce has taught chess in Hoboken for the past 10 years. His students have won the New Jersey State Chess Championship every year since 2001.
